A Bit More About Me
My Design Setup
Inside the Work
- 01Firstly, an introduction. I’m Yasmin — a Wales‑based creative who loves turning “what if…” ideas into real, polished things people can actually use, enjoy, or get inspired by. I work with clients near and far, and I’m happiest when I’m building something that feels thoughtful, intentional, and a little bit fun. I’m the kind of person who gets excited about new techniques and clever solutions. Give me a challenge, and I’ll happily dive in — experimenting, tweaking, refining — until it feels just right. I love collaborating with people who care about their craft, but I’m equally comfortable getting stuck in on my own with a cup of coffee and a good playlist. At the heart of it, I just really enjoy making things — and making them well.
- 02Ah, the classic question — and honestly, it’s a good one. Like many creative origin stories, mine starts with a sketchbook and a determined younger me who drew anything and everything. Graphic design, though? I didn’t even know it existed until college. I originally set out to be an animator. I studied media, explored the creative world from that angle, and fully expected to spend my life bringing characters to life frame by frame. Then we did a simple workshop: make a poster. That was it. I fell in love with the layout, the colours, the problem‑solving — the way design could say so much with so little. From that moment on, I dove into graphic design, learning everything I could and realising this was exactly where I wanted to be. And my animation dreams? Motion graphics became the perfect middle ground.
- 03People might say I’m a little on the lively side, but I prefer the word passionate. I bring a lot of energy into my work, and I’m never afraid to explore ideas others might overlook — whether that’s a steampunk‑nature‑themed café concept or tackling topics most people tiptoe around. I like pushing boundaries, asking “why not,” and creating space for ideas that deserve a voice. At the end of the day, people describe working with me as creative, open‑minded, and full of enthusiasm — someone who’s always ready to dive into something unexpected and make it work.
- 04I stay inspired by constantly seeking out new experiences and creative sparks — whether that’s browsing online for fresh ideas, joining workshops, or collaborating with other creatives. Sometimes inspiration comes from the simplest things: nature, conversations, or even a colour combination I spot by accident. Or maybe a logo I notice while walking that I can’t resist imagining a fresh redesign for.
- 05I believe good design should feel effortless — even though it rarely is behind the scenes. For me, it’s about creating work that communicates clearly, feels intentional, and leaves a lasting impression. I’m drawn to designs that balance creativity with purpose, where every colour, font, and detail has a reason to be there. I also think design should be accessible and human. Whether I’m working on something bold, playful, serious, or subtle, I want people to connect with it instantly. If a design can make someone feel understood, informed, or inspired without needing an explanation, then I’ve done my job. At the end of the day, my philosophy is simple: make it meaningful, make it thoughtful, and make it memorable.
- 06My RED: End Period Poverty campaign is the project I’m most proud of — and one that’s resonated with countless others too. It’s a powerful reminder of how design can speak loudly without needing a voice. The topic itself was a bold choice; periods are still treated as taboo in many places, and far too many women and girls feel shame discussing something completely natural or struggle to access safe, clean sanitary products. The project sparked conversations, challenged outdated attitudes, and showed how visual communication can push important issues into the spotlight. Some people called it “controversial,” but honestly, that only proved why the project needed to exist in the first place.
