  • Q1: Where are you from?
A: I am from South Wales, UK.
  • Q2: What do you enjoy doing in your free time?
A: Outside of design, I’m a big nerd! I love exploring astronomy, learning about space, and stargazing when I can. I’m also passionate about video games, appreciating how they combine storytelling and design. Music is another love of mine, and it often inspires my creative process. In my free time, I enjoy drawing original characters and experimenting with digital art, which helps me explore new ideas and styles outside client work.
  • Q3: How did you get into graphic design?
A: I originally studied to become an animator but discovered my true passion during a graphic design workshop. The blend of creativity and communication in design clicked for me, and I shifted my focus entirely. Since then, I’ve been continually learning and honing my branding, typography, and illustration skills, and I’ve loved every step of the journey.
  • Q4: What’s your favourite kind of project to work on?
A: I enjoy branding projects because they allow me to shape a company’s visual identity from the ground up. Creating something that represents a brand's core and will be seen across all its communication platforms is exciting.
  • Q5: How do you stay inspired creatively?
A: I stay inspired by constantly seeking new experiences. Whether that’s browsing online for inspiration, taking part in design workshops, or collaborating with other creatives, I make sure to stay curious. Inspiration can come from anywhere — even something as simple as nature or an interesting conversation.
  • Q6: What types of projects are featured in your portfolio?
A: My portfolio includes a variety of projects ranging from logo design and branding campaigns to typography statements and print. Each project showcases my ability to create visually compelling design solutions.
  • Q7: What do you enjoy most about being a designer?
A: I love design's creative freedom and the opportunity to solve complex problems through visual storytelling. Seeing ideas come to life and make a tangible impact is incredibly rewarding.
  • Q1: How can I contact you for potential projects or employment opportunities?
A: You can contact me through the contact form on my website or email at yasmindesigns24@gmail.com. I’m always eager to discuss new projects or opportunities, and I look forward to hearing from you.
  • Q2: What tools and software do you use?
A: I am skilled in industry-standard design tools such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign), and I also have experience with Procreate for digital art and most of my typography work.
  • Q3: Are you available for freelance or full-time opportunities?
A: I am open to freelance and full-time opportunities depending on the project and role. I enjoy the flexibility of freelance work while also thriving in a collaborative team environment in a full-time position. If you want to work with me, get a quote today!
  • Q4: Can you walk us through your design process?
A: My design process typically begins with thorough research, brainstorming, sketching, and conceptualisation. I then move on to digital tools, refining the design based on feedback and iteration until I achieve the final product that meets aesthetic and functional requirements.
  • Q5: How do you handle creative blocks?
A: Creative blocks can be really frustrating, and we can all agree they’re no fun! However, I've learned to view them as a natural part of the creative process. When I hit a wall, I usually step away from the project and engage in different activities, like playing video games, listening to music, or trying another creative task. Shifting my focus often helps clear my mind. I also find that collaborating or brainstorming with others can spark fresh ideas and reignite my inspiration.
  • Q6: How would you describe your design style?
A: I like to consider my design style flexible rather than fixed. I adapt my approach based on what each project needs, which helps give every piece its own unique identity. That said, I have a soft spot for both grunge and clean design. I enjoy balancing grunge's raw, edgy elements and the simplicity of clean design. This mix allows me to create visuals that are striking tell a story, and connect with the audience on a deeper level.
  • Q7: What has been your favourite project to work on so far?
A: One of my favourite projects was creating a visual campaign to raise awareness about period poverty in Wales. The brief required identifying a local issue within a 10-mile radius in Swansea, and I came across an article highlighting how many girls in England couldn’t afford period products. After learning that the issue was equally severe in Wales, I felt compelled to address it, mainly since it wasn’t being discussed enough. To promote the cause, I designed bold, typography-based graphics for women’s restroom doors in public spaces, making the issue impossible to ignore. The campaign also included a petition to make Wales the second country in the world to provide free period products. This project was the highest-graded piece during my education and earned the Highly Commended Award from Creative Conscience. It was an incredibly rewarding experience that allowed me to combine my design skills with a cause that can make a real impact.
